Infant Program

6 weeks through 18 months

The Montessori Infant program is designed to foster a bond with your baby and a nurturing environment with the individual caregiver.

Basic trust develops in an environment where adults’ response is appropriate to the child’s communication of the desire to be loved, respected and accepted. The sensorial scope and sequence are integral for Infant and toddlers alike as at these stages they learn through their senses. They learn by observing their learning sphere and the freedom to explore their environment. Understanding and appreciating that the child is a whole person and is influenced by the quality of physical interaction, feeding, as well as the quality of emotional and spiritual care. Freedom to interact, engage and explore is essential to the development of the child’s potential. Learning, which leads to confidence and independence, occurs where the child participates in their daily routines of care. A child must be spoken to in the language with which they will communicate as this develops dialogue.

Toddler Program

18 months through 2.5 years

The Montessori Toddler program provides children eighteen months to three-years-old with experiences that support the development of their confidence and independence.

This sensitive period of the child’s life has many physical, spiritual, social and emotional needs that will be met in our uniquely prepared toddler environment. The learning sphere for the toddlers is one that is engaging, nurturing and calm, it fosters a sense of community as these children are often experiencing their first interactions with other children. A qualified Montessori teacher facilitates each class to offer the tenderness, warmth, patience and respect so essential to this age. The space is strategically yet beautifully designed to appeal to the child’s curious nature. The materials in the learning environment continue to change as the child grows emotionally, physically, spiritually and intellectually. An emphasis on the importance of a peaceful, loving and respectful environment, with necessary nurturing and caring, is pivotal to this program. Learn more about our toddler programs.
